I love how they complete each other. He helps her live for more than the job, and she keeps him grounded and focused (well, as focused as Castle can be). They really are like two sides of a coin, opposites that attract each other, for they bring out the best in each other. He may have said this as a joke, but the truth is strong with this statement.

You know this reminds me a quote, that I love so much, from an episode of Modern family and that applies to Castle and Beckett perfectly: “There are dreamers and there are realists in this world. You’d think the dreamers would find the dreamers and the realists would find the realists, but more often than not the opposite is true. You see, the dreamers need the realists to keep them from soaring too close to the sun. And the realists, well without the dreamers, they might not ever get off the ground.”

Since the first time I heard it, I couldn’t help but think about Castle and Beckett, becuase, serioulsy, Is like is talking about the two of them.

Roy Montgomery taught me what it meant to be a cop. He taught me that we are bound by our choices, but we are more than our mistakes. Captain Montgomery once said to me that for us there is no victory, there are only battles. And in the end, the best you could hope for is to find a place to make your stand. And if you’re very lucky, you find someone who is willing to stand with you.

#i hate you guys #and your breathlessness when it comes to each other #castle’s crinkled brow and the tears brimming at the edge of beckett’s eyes #the way you both visibly swallow hard like it’s the most painful thing in the world that’s happening to you #because honestly it is #and the way beckett anchors herself to castle with her arms wrapped around his neck #settling herself against his hips and creating this little cocoon of safety and warmth and desire and love #and the way that castle clutches at her back #holding her tightly right around the middle so she can’t go anywhere else #and she just clings to him desperately like this is the only thing she’s needed all day #the safety and strength of him #and she tucks her head in probably closes her eyes and buries herself in being surrounded by him #and they sway a little with it with each other #like they can’t hold still because they have to remind themselves they can move and they’re alive #how long do you think they stood like this? #wrapped up in each other before they went outside #no one else was in the building by then but do you think people came rushing in after the time expired? #and after the precinct sent the all clear #do you think she shed silent tears on his shoulder while they held each other #and maybe he made a joke in her ear #and she whispered i love you into the juncture of his neck and shoulder over and over #and maybe when they went to pull apart at last he cupped her face and kissed her one last time #and reached up to kiss her gently on the forehead next and down to her nose and across her wet cheeks #and back again to her mouth with one final devouring kiss that spoke to his desperation #and a pair of slow tears spilled from her eyes as he did and her hands balled into the chest of his shirt #and when they finally got home that night their sex was desperate and needy at first #clothes thrown off all over the apartment #but they collapsed into a heap on the bed gasping roughly at each other until that need slowed #and they savored every second #slow but rough with claims staked in the form of bite marks and needy scratches

I love that he says this because he makes a living creating lives on paper.

Also, it makes me think of this quote from Terri Miller: “Real life is absurd, so we write fiction to make sense of it.”

I just love this show and it’s creators and everything about it and them, okay?
